Hi, I’ve recently seen a job advert for an animal care assistant at a vets. I’ve never worked with animals but am looking for a change in career and for a job with flexible, part time hours and not too much stress. Although I’ve never worked with animals I have had lots of experience of owning different species and nursing them through illnesses.
The job advert says the applicant will mostly be feeding and cleaning the enclosures/cages of inpatient animals as well as cleaning up the theatre ready for surgery. But it doesn’t feel like that would take a lot of time so I’m wondering what else is involved?
Also, I know that a lot of this will involve animal poo/sick/blood and I’m fine with that. But I'm wondering how much of the job will also involve maybe dealing with deceased animals as that would prob be quite upsetting for me.
