Please note I put dinner as tea seemed to create a reaction last time! DH & I were supposed to go out for a pub meal but I rearranged for tomorrow night so we’re having minted lamb burgers, triple cooked chips & beans yum.

OP posts:

Nice! I haven’t had a lamb burger for ages. I’ll have to rectify that soon.
I’ve done Rick Stein’s cider chicken.
topped with potato for Dh & Dcs. I cooked a small one topped with celeriac (low carb diet) for myself. Easy and nice.

I'm not in until late tonight so will only have to cater for myself. I'm having cauliflower and red pepper curry with stir fried garlic and ginger tender stem. Basically a veg fest, because I wouldn't get away with that much veg if I was feeding anyone else!

Musicaltheatremum · 27/02/2023 19:14

I have turkey steaks marinaded in oil and herbs. My husband does this meal every week for me.

OldTinHat · 27/02/2023 19:15

I was supposed to going out with friends to eat this evening but it got cancelled by the venue. Instead, I've had a pack of two Brains faggots, mashed potato and the end of a bag of frozen sprouts with bacon left from Christmas. I'm very happy 😊

RedCarsGoFaster · 27/02/2023 19:15

Chickpea and spinach curry. Normally lovely, but tonight all I wanted was pizza 😭

I blame the chef (me).

Cherrysoup · 27/02/2023 19:16

Slightly smoked salmon fillets, mustard mash, broccoli, soya beans, glazed carrots.

WiltingLobelia · 27/02/2023 19:17

Oh that sounds lovely OP.

We had chicken schnitzel with apple sauce; baked jacket potatos with sour cream and cheese and steamed cauliflower, broccoli and carrots.

I love a lamb burger.... might need to do that this week.

Pascha · 27/02/2023 19:18

Salmon parcels in pastry with rice and veg. It's easy dinner night on Monday as dh is home late and I'm busy.

LadyKenya · 27/02/2023 19:18

My quick, and easy special fried rice.

Zuffe · 27/02/2023 19:21

I’m not the sort to do this kind of thread, but as my taste buds are salivating over a special meal we are cooking tonight I will share.

We are having, with PIL, the last pheasants in a stew with chopped bacon and a dry red wine, thyme and frozen currents. Dauphinois potatoes, red cabbage and apple (Delia’s recipe, but then cooked twice to evaporate a little). Pudding is home made citrus cheesecake.

it’s a special occasion. FIL is 90 tomorrow and tonight his present is his main bucket list item!

I have this week off from work to relax and enjoy these moments.

Musicalmistress · 27/02/2023 19:21

Quick tea tonight - macaroni cheese with broccoli & garlic bread

Wilkolampshade · 27/02/2023 19:22

My DH just cut my hair very. very. badly. So my dinner consists of a Getir delivery of wine and cream crackers, because obs I can never go out again without a bag on my head.

He can fucking well get his own.

Foreverhope1 · 27/02/2023 19:24

Chicken, mushroom and tarragon pie for us.... pending a tanning session in the oven 😁

Prawn noodle stir fry.

Jenasaurus · 27/02/2023 19:27

Lentil Moussaka with roasted veg for me :)

Titsywoo · 27/02/2023 19:27

I just had chicken escalope in flatbread with shredded lettuce, grated carrot and mayo. We all make our own meals here so I didn't have to cook for anyone else!

toastfiend · 27/02/2023 19:29

"TikTok" feta pasta. I was highly sceptical when we first tried it, but actually it's super easy, delicious, and has become a regular feature.

Shouldbesleeping8 · 27/02/2023 19:31

Fried up leftover rice and veg from yesterday with a bit too much chilli

NashvilleQueen · 27/02/2023 19:32

Salmon fillet, jasmine rice, crispy kale

I know I shouldn't laugh but ....Grin

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 27/02/2023 19:36

I had my dinner about 5 hours ago 😉

But got tea, we've had something called prawnography! Which is basically spicy chips, with onion salad, prawns and sauces on top of salad!

We had it on a beach bistro pub in the summer and have recreated it when we can since!

It's a massacre. I'm on strike till it grows back.

Home made smoked haddock risotto

He uses oil which he infuses with all sorts of herbs and spices. And then makes a salad. No salad tonight sadly as his mum died suddenly this morning and he is with his dad. She was 97 so all is ok and peaceful.
