How to thank someone that’s gone above and beyond?

At university - personal tutor (not teaching me) is being incredibly supportive of challenging circumstances, she’s given me her mobile number if I need a chat in the evenings, and we regularly meet for a coffee.

I know she’s probably just doing it to be supportive I think - but she’s absolutely lovely, I know she’s gone away above and beyond her job role and want to say thanks somehow but I don’t know how to, or if I even should say something? Talking to a friend last night on phone and she said, ‘very few universities that would be so helpful!’

Having her support has made a huge difference during a very difficult time and I’m hugely appreciative of the amount of time she’s devoted to supporting me. I don’t want to make her feel awkward iyswim!

A really nice card with a thank you message in it?
