To not finish a course of antibiotics

At the beginning of last week I was given a course of antibiotics to take for 8 days (so should have finished them tomorrow) for bacterial strep throat. After taking them for four days I caught a stomach bug and spent the early hours of Saturday morning and Saturday throwing up and was very unwell and unable to eat on Sunday, so didn't take them. I've still got a very dodgy stomach today and can only tolerate a small amount of bland food. Should I just not finish them as I've had such a big gap. I don't feel like I could tolerate them today tbh. I know you "should" finish the course, but after such a gap and with my stomach the way it is, it's probably not worth it, right?

I think you shouldn’t take them anymore and should contact GP about it.

GP appointments are impossible to get in the area of Spain where I am without a massive wait. You can't even get through unfortunately. That's why I'm asking on here. I went to the emergency clinic on Monday and waited 4 hours to be seen! The next available appt with my doc that I can see online is in two weeks!

My throat feels much better, it's lied to to do the fact that it's supposed to be bad to not finish a course of antibiotics as they may not work in the future, but as a one off, I'm hoping it's ok.

I think in your circumstances it's fine not to finish them, it couldn't be helped.
