Sauna smell

Does anyone know what that lovely sauna smell is?

Is it just the wood being so hot or do different places add scents?

It's a very specific smell that I'm thinking of, not perfume or a floral scent at all.

I'm pregnancy with HG and it's all o can think about. Obv I can't go and sit in a sauna but if I could burn an oil or something?! I'm sure it would help!
Other smells are all just so unpleasant and nauseating

Im aware this will likely sound very very weird sorry

My local one has eucalyptus in - could that be it?

If it's cedarwood that can smell amazing! Or pine! Also ours use salted water and that smells incredible. As PP said some have eucalyptus in too.

It's the heated wood. My wooden decking emits the same smell in summer if I spray it with water 😂

I know it's not pine but I will try eucalyptus and cedarwood...

I have a suspicion it is just the heated wood scent that I am thinking of in which case I will just have to keep on dreaming of it 🙈 what a strange thing to crave

I have a wood sauna, it makes the place smell lovely. It's a mix of oils and the wood itself.

Happily, mine no longer smells like men's sweaty socks as only I use it, very occasionally...bought it as it was cheaper than heating the whole house and my arthritis was bad. I love the sound of the water on rocks and the smell.

It's heated wood.

I love our September delivery of kiln dried firewood!!! We had birch ash and oak and it the log store smelled delicious for days!

Unlike the ominous damp wood smell of a leaking shower!

'Fenjal' is the epitome of the sauna smell. The brand is available from Boots and they do a body spray.
