Do you know about Indian/Pakistani traditional clothing?

I found this item in a charity shop and I'm trying to find out the correct name for it. It's like a jacket with sleeves, made out of chiffon and heavily embroidered with a brocade trim and diamante all over. It's ankle length but with no method of closing, so is obviously meant to stand open over something else. I'm not even sure if it's meant for women or men? A picture would be easier wouldn't it? 😅

Looks like some kind of decorative abaya for weddings or Eid.

It's probably part of a jacket style selwar kameez set worn over a long flowy tunic and trousers. It's definitely for a lady though and you can wear it almost over anything.

I have something similar in black that goes over a plan black trouser suit (long tunic with tight trousers in my case, but can be baggy trouser shalwar, or straight cut). Basically I wear this over my suit (churidaar suit; but it might have been worn with a shalwar kameez - so baggy trousers and tunic.

It could also be part of an abaya as previous poster said.

It would normally be part of a shalwar kameez outfit. But it would look great over some jeans and a t shirt 🤩
