What age can children eat liver/offal from?

I love offal, plus it's cheap and full of lots of good stuff. I have it in my mind that young children can't have it because of the vitamin A though and Google is being unhelpful as to when they can have it from. I'd love to do some liver and bacon this week but don't want to poison my children!

Is there a definitive age where they can try it? (I will be making chicken nuggets as a back up option if they don't like it😁)

I gave mine chicken liver as weaning food - was in the first Annabelle karmel book, i think. They’ve always eaten offal and haggis with no ill effects. You have to eat an awful lot of liver to get vitamin a poisoning

I can remember liver and onions as a meal in infant primary school.

I can’t find official advice, only blogs etc that say no more than once a week. I let my 5 year old try pate last week. He likes it, I think he would probably like liver and bacon but I don’t really.

Annabel Karmel has a few recipes for liver in her weaning book, it first makes an appearance at second stage weaning so between seven and nine months. I remember doing this recipe for DC, they were fine with it. (This is a nine to 12 months recipe)

From 6 months, I think. The vitamin A thing is only in pregnancy. I definitely had lots of liver as a young child (and hated it back then!).
