Moving away for a more exciting life?

If you've done similar with DC - please give me the encouragement!

I live in the South West. Jobs are pretty poor and when there's a vacancy its low pay. I've lost sight of my career in Data / Business Analyst and ended up taking basic admin roles (because that's all we have to choose from!)...I'm 38 and I desperately want my career to take off again.

DH works from home with frequent travel to London which is a bazillion hours away so when he's gone - he's gone for ages.

DC love playing outside, they love the space but there is nothing else for them to do!! Local museums are hideously dull.

DH and I are ready to pack it all in and move somewhere more fun for everyone but we seem to be quite worried about it too.

What if we fuck up and buy a crap house? What if we move and the DC don't get into a good school? What if, what if, what if 😂

If you've relocated for similar reasons, please will you give me your positive stories and give me a much needed kick up the ass?

(Before DC we were happy city centre folks but we moved back to be nearer families!)

I haven’t had to do it as already live somewhere exciting 😁… however what strikes me reading you post is “what is stopping you?”
If you wrote a list of pros and cons…. Pros would be more self fulfilment for you, better career, less travel for your DHs job. There seems to be no real cons?
You only live once - I’d go for it!

I walked into the garden earlier and suddenly felt pulled down / anchored by everything in the garage and shed 😂

I don't know what's wrong with us. Pre DC we lived in the US, London and Bristol. Since DC we're soft as shit!!
