I've just about finished my first cuppa of the day. When it's gone, I'll probably make a coffee & then get dressed.

I need to iron school shirts for the girls and nip to little Asda for a few things to last until Wednesday (shopping day). Grandad's coming round too, he's not coping well without Nanna.

I want to spend a bit of time checking I have everything for Rainbows and Guides on Tuesday, and carry on crocheting a broccoli hat for my classroom colleague, for World Book Day.

Pork loin steaks with salad, and garlic roast potatoes, for tea. I'm looking forward to a glass of wine with them later on 😋

Dd1's home from her last school residential this evening, it sounds like she's had fun! She's looking forward to her own bed tonight though 💤 It's all freshly made for her.

What about all of you? 🙂

Sounds like a lovely day! I'm sorry to hear about Nanna though💐

We are herding the kids to get ready for a round of mini golf! My mum is going to join in the fun and probably thrash us all.

I'm currently eating crumpets with butter and marmite and deciding if I want coffee yet.

When we get home, toddler will nap and there's talk of pancakes for lunch.

I need to have a tidy up and organise nursery bag for Monday and a funeral outfit.

Not much food on so its likely to be a freezer raid for dinner!

Morning Lucysmam and others. I woke unreasonably early for a retired woman. So far I've had two coffees and a tea. I've a ham hock simmering and I'll make lentil soup later. I've showered and washed my (sparse) hair, made the beds and generally tidied up. I'm out later for brunch with a friend where we will put the world to rights. Later on I'll make Swedish meatballs and Eve's pudding. I want to fiddle with paintings I'm not happy with but might ruin them. What to do? Enjoy your day.

Good morning everyone. I’m feeling motivated this morning so plan on cleaning the house top to bottom today, it’s pretty tidy already so the cleaning should be nice and easy to do. I need to iron school uniforms then make a cake that dd18 has asked for.

I can’t do any of these things until 11am though as dd18 was working until 2.30am so it’s not fair to wake her up by doing stuff around the house too early. She wants me to wake her at 11am as she has a driving lesson at 1pm so I can start once she’s awake.

Dh has gone to his second job today, dd15 will no doubt go to the gym at some point and dd8 will be playing with her friends so I can crack on with the housework.

We’re having spaghetti and meatballs for tea tonight then once dd8 is bathed and in bed I’ll shower and get my pjs on, light my candles and can sit and relax on the sofa watching tv under a blanket in my spotless house, knowing I’m organised for the week and can have a glass or two of wine. I’ll be shattered but I love that feeling so it’ll be well worth it.

Sparklingbrook · 26/02/2023 09:43

Breakfast (currently being cooked by DH)
Shops
Visit parents
Go and watch DS's football match
Pub

Not a bad Sunday.

Decafflatteplease · 26/02/2023 09:49

Morning @lucysmam hope your dd had a great time away bet she will be shattered when she gets home!

Today is pancake day in our house as we were busy on Tuesday. Just had a coffee (decaff obvs!) And hung some uniform out on the line, not sure if it's going to dry tbh but can always finish in tumble dryer later on.

Once teens have surfaced we will get on with the pancakes. Got the classic lemon and sugar, plus blood orange and sugar , Nutella, banana and tinned pears. Lay all on table and everyone helps themselves, ill just keep a steady stream of pancakes coming!

In-laws popping round at some point this afternoon for a coffee, we get on so well it's fab. MIL and I have had a book swap going between us for years so I've got a couple of books im done with ready to pass on to her.

Lasagna and garlic bread for dinner. Usual Sunday routine of gin bath kindle and bed!

Stinkymalinkyfromdownthelane · 26/02/2023 10:05

Morning lucysmam ☕ thanks for these threads - i love them 👍 im in the bath after doing a run from week 4 of couch25K. It wasn't great. Husband just brought up a choc chip pancake with blueberries which im trying not to drop in the water. After bath I'm getting school uniforms ready for tomoro then we'll all go for a walk around the local lake with bacon sarnie at lake cafe after 👍 sorry about your nan - love to all x

JimJamJolly · 26/02/2023 10:07

Just finished my first cuppa whilst lounging on the sofa warmed by the sun streaming through the window.

DH still in bed as he was out last night. DS gaming, but tells me he will stop shortly to do his homework.

No real plans, but might potter in the garden for a bit and then reorganise shelves in lounge - DH moved everything around the other day to stop his vinyl fading due to the sun, so my ornaments/ photos/ lamps need organising properly (he did try!!).

DH has suggested a walk this afternoon so we'll probably all go out over the fields for an hour later.

After dinner we'll probably watch TV as a family. We usually catch up with the apprentice on a Sunday eve.

I love a chilled Sunday

Girasoli · 26/02/2023 10:08

Dropping DS1 off at a birthday party in town after lunch and then doing a bit of window shopping with no DC in tow. I can't wait 😊

I need some new pyjamas and my DM has asked me to find something that will make her hair less fly-away/frizzy "but there's too many options so can I choose one please".

Funkyslippers · 26/02/2023 10:13

Good morning, just had 2nd cup of tea and breakfast, will have a coffee from the machine then off to bodypump. This afternoon DD, her friend and I are dog walking for a friend. Need to tidy up a bit at home too. Yesterday was a busy one so want to chill a bit today. Might carry on with my new book before I go out. Not sure what's for tea, oh used his 10% off Lidl voucher to buy lots of meat products so might throw something nice together later. Shame that DD is a pescetarian!

maddiemookins16mum · 26/02/2023 11:04

We’re not long up! I’ve done bacon/egg rolls for breakfast and have a chicken casserole in the slow cooker. DMIL and DD have gone to Church (DD passed her driving test on Thursday so has taken her Granny in my car). I’m going to get in the shower soon and my moustache needs attending to. DH is away with work tomorrow so is sorting stuff then he has the ironing to do.

The house needs a quick tidy and there are some very brown bananas begging to be made into a cake for the CTM finale this evening.

Might pop to Dunelm for some cushion covers plus I need to order baking soda and vinegar for the washing.

Simonjt · 26/02/2023 11:05

It must be hard for your grandad, especially as when people lose a partner later in life they have likely already lost a lot of their supportive friends.

We’ve been swimming this morning, I forgot to pack pants for anyone, so a great start to the day.

We don’t have many plans today, we’re dog sitting at the moment, so the novelty of four
dogs in the flat is keeping my son entertained. We’re going to start watching jordskott
tonight, I’ve been working hard on my Swedish, so we wanted to watch something that wasn’t overly wordy or too fast paced so I can hopefully keep up with whats happening.

I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.

Hedjwitch · 26/02/2023 11:09

Had a lie in with coffee, then up to put a load of washing in and out on the line, and then bake dhs birthday cake for tomorrow. Dd2 cant come tomorrow so heading out to meet her for a drink later and will take grandma too. Then watch rugby and wrap DHs presents.
No idea at all what to do for dinner....

MamOfFive · 26/02/2023 11:14

Been reading on my kindle while ds2 plays minecraft, ds1 has only just risen from his pit - joys of teens!
Not doing much today, having a gammon roast & need to do ds2 homework as it's been half term.
Will be watching the boxing tonight. Come on fury! Grin

TheGriffle · 26/02/2023 11:23

We’ve had a lazy morning, everyone is playing on tech or watching tele. Dh is considering making an apple pie later from all the apples that the children have decided they’re not eating anymore. Sausage tray bake for tea later. Might go for a little walk then to see FIL once we’re all dressed.

JamMakingWannaBe · 26/02/2023 11:24

I'm going to eat some of the carrot cake I made yesterday, take DD shopping for new welly boots and pop into SuperDrug to try some Japanese anti aging serum I saw recommended on here.

girlmeetsboy · 26/02/2023 12:05

I've cleaned the whole house and am about to have pork belly and truffle mash with cabbage. I have a splitting headache though and will probably have a nap this afternoon.

WhatWouldHopperDo · 26/02/2023 12:14

I’ve been for an Aldi top up shop and cleaned the kitchen so far. Just about to tackle the mountain of clean laundry that needs putting away.

DH is laying new flooring on the bathroom, DS is at work and DD is having a clear out in her room.

Will be taking the dog for a longish walk shortly. Lamb steaks for dinner and I’ve got a book I want to finish tonight.

lucysmam · 26/02/2023 12:26

@Simonjt forgetting to pack pants is something I would manage to do 🤣

@girlmeetsboy your lunch sounds tasty 😋

I've sacked off the idea of Asda & we'll nip round the corner instead. There's nothing hugely important I wanted to pick up & I cba to walk down there in the cold & drizzle today.

I haven't done my Rainbow and Guide stuff either but have written myself a list for after work tomorrow & highlighted what definitely needs done for Tuesday. And I have tidied round, sorted washing & all the other boring stuff before deciding I've had enough for today.

I'm going to spend the afternoon crocheting instead. I think I'm ready for a few hours of nothing much 🧶

WhatWouldHopperDo · 26/02/2023 12:29

Oh I forgot to mention, I managed to get tomatoes and peppers in Aldi!!

Natsku · 26/02/2023 12:30

Got up early today after barely sleeping last night to help set up for the children's ski race. DD and DS both raced, winning gold and silver (thanks to DD having no competition in her age group and DS only having one competitor Grin) then home for home made tar ice cream and Death in Paradise and copious amounts of tea to try and keep me awake until dinner.

Mum just got back from skiing on the frozen lake. DD is resting, DS playing with lego and OH is loudly playing guitar in the basement. I just want to go to bed.

MonkeyMonkeyUnderpants · 26/02/2023 12:33

I have had a productive morning doing jobs around the house and getting laundry sorted.

I am currently on the bus into town for my first date in 6 years. Very excited.

Tequilamockinbird · 26/02/2023 12:39

We're off out for some lunch and then coming home to watch my beloved Newcastle United get hammered play Manchester United in the cup final later.

HOWAY the lads! ⚽️

Youdoyoubabe · 26/02/2023 12:42

On way home with DH from a night in the city to a party. All kids (teens so been home alone) will be home this afternoon unusually so that will be nice. Then Sunday night pizza and movie night to relax ready for another week at the grindstone.
