Sooo many brands and would love some personal recommendations please for full length leggings for

-running/walking/hiking
-fit size 14/16 with tummy
-high-waisted
-wash and last well
-flattering/slimming/sculpting
-comfortable.
-Not garish memorable patterns.

Happy to pay a reasonable amount for a couple of perfect pairs.

Mine are from m&s - good move. They were recommended to me as sweaty betty dupes & only cost £27.50. I love them

I was going to recommend Goodmove from M&S. I like their stuff so much that I have it shipped to Denmark.

I really rate moon. Actually sold as climbing trousers but have been my fav pair of leggings for years. Tiso £40 which is expensive but so long lasting.

ThePoshUns · 26/02/2023 09:02

The M&S good move range is excellent. I've got a few pairs of high waisted leggings from there a few years old now but still going strong.
I can't afford sweaty Betty etc but M&S are just a good imo

I have had some brilliant ones from TK Maxx. American brand. Not expensive at all, have had them years and they're not baggy. Can't remember the make but will report back... They do them in different leg lengths too.

ThePoshUns · 26/02/2023 09:05

The Dare 2 be range are good too and on sale at the moment

I do like Sweaty Betty but they're quite short. If you have long legs they're no good in winter! Cold ankles...

DadsTrilby · 26/02/2023 09:17

I need leggings with pockets for my phone and I love Decathlon ones, also Ronhill.

IkBenDeMol · 26/02/2023 09:18

90 Degree is the brand. Amazon have them too.

tulips27 · 26/02/2023 09:20

Really bizarrely, my best leggings are from Lidl! I'm also an hourglass shape but with a belly, and they really hold it in place (so not sure how they would work on people with a flatter stomach), also they have a zipped back pocket. BUT it's only a certain kind I have from them that's good; I have another Lidl pair with mesh that are slightly shiny that are only usable for yoga.

Dogsgottabone · 26/02/2023 09:29

I think the amazon ones can be great but even repeat buys have been inconsistent on quality. One pair of the queenieke ones is brilliant, the others fell straight down.

I wear sweaty Betty Power leggings for the school run and that's it. Constantly hitching them up even with the drawstring done. But they are flattering.

I wear Bon Nouli for yoga and these are gorgeous super soft high waisted and don't fall down but they are a bit on the thin side so not great walking the dogs as my legs get cold and also no pockets.

So I'd go with amazon because if you get the right pair they are great and cheap and thick and have pockets and great for walking. Just buy a few pairs to check they fit well for you.

I'd love to know what those leggings are that you see people in that seem to be pulling them in, flattering their bum and pulling in the stomach. You see people in them sometimes and it's very striking. A woman was wearing them in Aldi the other week (it's next to a gym) and men were practically trailing her round the store! 🤣

Dogsgottabone · 26/02/2023 10:48

@tulips27 id put money on them being sweaty Betty Power leggings. They are unbelievably flattering.

DailyEnergyCrisis · 26/02/2023 10:58

Also, if you’re on Vinted, once you’re comfortable with your go to legging size and style get them for far less on there. The older sweaty Betty leggings are far softer and a bit longer so I find them much nicer than the current powers. I do wear powers are they’re so light and sweat wicking for intense cardio but they’re not particularly comfortable or flattering on me (size 10-12 but powers make me look much bigger). A few friends love the sweaty Betty zero gravity for running and I find the high waisted powers a more comfortable and flattering fit than standard powers.

DailyEnergyCrisis · 26/02/2023 11:00

Try sweaty Betty super soft- they are higher waisted, softer, a bit warmer and IMO more flattering than powers.

I rate the Skechers GoWalks - I can't see them on here but Costco sell them for under £20.

Fabletics power hold are great. They are thick and controlling. Can't see any cellulite through them. They lift and shape your bum. Don't fall down.
I wash and wear continuously and they are still great after a long time

Itsonlyagame · 26/02/2023 13:07

Tikiboo are great quality and very comfortable. There are loads of loud patterns but they do plain coloured ones too. I'm an apple shape and they are one of the few brands that will stay up on me. The other is decathlon but the quality isn't as good.
