I rang 111 as there was spots that suddenly came up around his mouth and started spreading quickly.
They didn't seem too concerned but didn't want to diagnose over the phone. Can anyone shed any light on what it could be?x

Impetigo?

Allergy? Could you try an antihistamine

I think impetigo would emerge slower than op has suggested

Impetigo?

I did wonder about that. They said a pharmacist would be unlikely to look at him as he is under 1. We are invited to a birthday party tomorrow but if it's potentially that I think we should give it a miss. Thanks

Chickenpox. You can see spots starting on his neck too

Any spots anywhere else? One of mine had spots like that and it was hand foot and mouth.

Cynderella · 25/02/2023 19:30

I think if it's impetigo, the spots blister fairly quickly. It's a long time since I've seen anyone with it. Can babies not get it? Could it just be teething?

HelloItsMeAgainHello · 25/02/2023 19:34

Yes so he does have spots on his neck as well but they haven't blistered like the ones on his face. He also have one lone spot on his arm.
Before the extra ones I thought it may have just been teething as he is 9 months with no teeth and very dribbly lately

Could be hand foot and mouth. We've just got over it, it started on DS butt and around his mouth. Progressed on to his legs. We originally thought chicken pox. Get anti viral cream, it really helps

My partner and I caught it really badly too. Gave me lots of sympathy for bubba. The blisters sting like nettle rash then hurt like a burn. Worse fever and chills I've ever had, worst sore throat I've ever had. My friend and her daughter had it really mildly though.
I could punch her for bringing her kid to play group knowing she had it though

Hand, foot, mouth

Looks like impetigo to me
