He's never gonna stop

So dds ex got out of prison on Monday since Tuesday. He's been contacting her over all forms of social media he always manages to find her or make new accounts ect. There's a 15 year restraining order and he was at it Within the day. It started with He's so sorry for all he done. To making threats to hurt people./loved ones etc. Shes ignored him. There have been markers put on 3 addresses because of his threats. Sadly because they are threats and he's not acted on them I don't think much will happen. Maybe a short prison sentence but not much.

Police are looking to charge with breaking the restraining order and also a stalking charge.

All I can say is to report it to the Police and provide as many screenshots as possible. He's definitely in breach of the order.

Sounds very stressful.

How does he have her number? Has she changed it but someone is giving him information?

She shouldn’t have to, but is it worth her shutting down her social media for a while and changing her phone number? It might provide a circuit-breaker, and give her some reprieve from his constant messages.

It's not her number that he has. She's been told that she does not have to close down the whole of her social media as she should not have to live that way. She should be able to live her life as normal. Also there's a restraining border and he knows this so its down to him. Not to break that. Also when he makes threats at least there's a hears up on what he's planning.

Could she set up social media under a different name and email address? Just let close friends know its her. I hope the police act quickly x

Anothername23 · 25/02/2023 22:52

Dd had to stay at mine for a while and has been told not to go home. There's also been a police silent alarm put on my house as a precaution.

Dd is scared to go out 😔

He'll be recalled to prison once they find him.
I'm sorry this is happening to you and your daughter

Oh God, I'm sorry to hear that. At least they are taking you seriously and these thick loonies can't help doing stupid things and gaining the attention of the Police.

Hopefully, he'll be caught very soon.

Fromwetome · 26/02/2023 00:07

OP you said that your daughter was told not to close off all her social media and quite rightly so, but her online footprint obviously makes her 'findable' so she needs to be doing more in this case to protect herself because obviously the police are as always slow to react to women in danger.

If he doesn't have her number how is he able to find her? Her name shouldn't be searchable in any social media. I understand the need to feel connected to friends etc but she really needs to create a bulletproof online identity/alias, with the help of her support network too.

BitOutOfPractice · 26/02/2023 00:11

Oh god op I’m do sorry you and you dd are going through this. You must both be so frightened. I hope this pathetic excuse for a man is out away again soon.

sending you best wishes and strength for now 💐

I don't think its a recall as hes done all his time in prison . It's going to be new charges one is for breaking the restraining order another is a stalking charge. They seem to be taking their time arresting him though

That’s because they have to find him first. However I’m assuming if there’s a restraining order he needs to give them a up to date address.

There should be a warrant out for his arrest

Untitledsquatboulder · 26/02/2023 09:27

I'm struggling to understand why your dd doesn't hide her sm footprint. Of course she shouldn't have to, but then we shouldn't have to lock our front doors either. Obviously she can and should report him when it happens but why must she be a sitting duck for his abuse?

WandaWonder · 26/02/2023 09:30

No she shouldn't have too but she needs to get off-line, her safety needs to come before this

I don't fully understand it myself but she's been advised not to . As he's such a weirdo he tells her what he's planing to do so she has a heads ups. Last time she managed to completely block him from (everything) she got attacked.

She can have two social media one anonymous where she has her freedom one where he can handily let her know just how much danger she is in

This is what I don't understand he's been out less than a week. Police said they don't know where he lives . But his probation officer does so why have they not gone to her makes no sense.

Also he was meant to be put far away from us but he's been put closer than he should have been . We know this as probation officer told us the first 2 letters of the post code which is the same as ours which means he's within 4 miles or less from us.

I think she should use a different name on sm, plenty of people do I know a few teachers and they don’t use their real name on sm. yes she should “have to” but there you go.

purpledalmation · 26/02/2023 11:06

I would be terrified of this behaviour. It is so reminiscent of the incidents of heinous crimes committed on ex partners.

If it were my daughter I would facilitate her moving (abroad even) as far away, change job, even change name and keep her safe. These men are nutters and scary. If possible I'd uproot the whole family. After a couple of years the bastard would, have moved in to a new victim. ☹️

Quitelikeit · 26/02/2023 11:10

Why don’t you ring his probation officer and tell them what’s happened - but if he is on probation then surely that means he got out early and can go back at any time

I’d be on the phone first thing

Quitelikeit · 26/02/2023 11:11

Was he in jail due to something he did to her or an unrelated thing?

Quitelikeit · 26/02/2023 11:12

Or why not go to your local police station to see if you can talk to the custody Sargent

TheShellBeach · 26/02/2023 12:00

Sorry, OP. When I wrote my last comment I didn't realise that this awful man had actually completed his sentence. I thought he was out on licence.

It sounds very frightening and is the sort of thing which proves that these men remain very, very dangerous. Your poor daughter. The man needs to be found and dealt with.

Anothername23 · 26/02/2023 16:00

I spoke to my son earlier who's a policeman. Hes still new to being a police officer . But also he's not allowed to get involved in the case . But he did tell me they are not doing their job properly. They have had since Tuesday to arrest him but have not. Their excuse is they don't know his address. Dd actually gave them his probation officers number yesterday. Surely they should have that information.
