Food budget - Sainsburys

I know this has probably been done a million times but….

If you are a family of 3 (me, 2 teenage DC) what do you budget for food, shopping mainly at Sainsbury’s?

some criteria:
mainly veggie, occasional fish/meat
generally cook from scratch, use lots of pulses etc
allowing for 3 lunches for each person
including toiletries but not loo roll
including some alcohol, say £10/week

Interested in a reasonable benchmark.

£130 - £150 per week i would say. I find sainsburys very ££

I find sainsburys comparable now to aldi etc as long as choose the lines you buy carefully, better quality as well imo. I buy for 2 adults and 1 young child and spend about £50 a week, so I'd say double maybe?

£100/120 depending on treats.

Depends what you can afford.

If money is really tight you could probably do it for £50-70 a week if you cut back on things like juice/pop/snacks and bought basics/Aldi price match stuff.

If you have plenty of money just buy the things you want. If this costs too much that it's using up money that could be best used for other things, then somewhere in between.
