Dd is convinced that playdoh can be baked and then it will harden, will it actually? Or will it burn the house down...

I don't think so, is she thinking of modelling clay like fimo?

You can make your own playdoh and cook it in the microwave but it won’t harden. You could make salt dough and bake that till it hardens. Then you can decorate it. I’ve used it to make Christmas tree ornaments with my class.

We used to make our own playdoh out of flour, salt, water and food colouring. It definitely goes hard if you bake it.

The Playdoh-like modelling clay that you can bake was/is called Fimo.

Air dry clay is available from The Works.

My daughter made a mermaid from playdoh. We left it out and it hardened up but did get brittle. You can bake salt dough, if fimo.

No, there is a new play doh out through that dries overnight and will harden.
