I bought one of these for Christmas and messaged Amazon for a refund (I'm in the UK). They initially said it was only being recalled in America, Mexico and Canada, so no need for return. When I said I was not willing to risk a fire, and asked if there were different manufacturing sites for the product, they immediately offered a refund.
Just thought I'd pass it on, as it was only by chance the article popped up in my news feed and I know lots of people got one for Christmas.
