any opticians or anyone tell me whether acute angles are congenital or develop during life

Being checked for retinal detachment I was surprised to be told the drainage channels were too narrow to risk dilating the pupils .
Now being referred to glaucoma clinic for possible laser therapy but wondering why this not flagged in any earlier examinations .

I suppose I should refer to narrowed drainage channels ,not acute angles!
