I'm on my second, both times convertible. Me and the DCs bloody love it but it's a bit tight for my Dh!

OrangeBlossom28 · 24/02/2023 18:58

Ooh following. I'm buying a Cooper S soon so have been looking at them on the used approved website. I'm really looking forward to getting a fun car!

emmetgirl · 24/02/2023 19:01

I'm on my 2nd mini convertible and I adore it! Brilliant fun to drive and comfortable too.

I'm on my third mini so that should say something . My current one is a John Cooper Works in black and red and I adore it. Fun to drive, really comfortable and I wouldn't swap it for anything else.
Looks like this one....

Ooh, the convertibles are gorgeous, I'd love one.
Not sure exactly what my next will be, but not red or blue, already had those colours, MUST have two screens, parking sensors, heated seats and a heated steering wheel.

I’ve got a 20 plate auto 5 door cooper sport, have had it for nearly 2 years, and I still love driving it. It’s a great car for town driving but is also well built enough to feel safe and comfortable for long motorway journeys.

I spend a fair bit of time ploughing up and down motorways and have never felt unsafe in it.
It also comfortably holds a decent, (90+), speed.

AnnieMore · 24/02/2023 20:11

I’m on my 3rd Mini Cooper. I love it.

ouch44 · 24/02/2023 20:19

I've had my Mini for 14 years. It was just over a year old when I got it. I bloody love it. It's nearly done 100,000 and the only thing that's gone wrong is that it's eco mode (engine cutting out when stopped) has stopped working. I expect the garage could fix that but it gave me anxiety anyway!
My DC is going to learn to drive in it soon. Lucky thing!

Iamclearlyamug · 24/02/2023 20:20

I adored my mini, absolutely hero worshipped her. Seriously fast, very agile and so easy to park and fit through gaps others couldn't!

Still miss her now, but I had to change as needed to tow and go off road for work

OxanaVorontsova · 24/02/2023 20:21

I love my mini, it’s my favourite of all the cars I’ve ever owned and the one I’ve kept the longest.

Whichwhatnow · 24/02/2023 20:24

I have a convertible mini and I love it absolutely. However it just cost 3k to fix because it's getting a bit old and certain engine repairs need to be done by a specialist. So there's good points and bad.

OctaviaOwl · 24/02/2023 20:35

I only ever have minis

Current one is a 21 plate automatic cooper. Best cars in the world! (Imo)

bighair32 · 24/02/2023 20:47

Love love love minis! I am now driving my fourth. I lost my lovely clubman in an accident after one year but all of the others (Mini One, Mini Cooper, Mini Clubman) have lasted for years and all fabulous; have owned both diesel and petrol. Lots of commuting, super easy to park. My current mini now on 136000 miles, still going strong. Enjoy!!

Ooh, same, 21 plate, auto, Cooper.
Mine's red with a white roof and white stripes on the bonnet.

Her?
My current one is a he.
His name is Elio.
Last one was a girl named Esmerelda.

Pearfacebananapoop · 24/02/2023 21:04

DH has one. It's fun and easy to park but feels quite basic. You can feel the wind against the windscreen when you're going fast! Depends what you are used to, I am a bit disappointed if I'm honest.

Purplecatshopaholic · 24/02/2023 21:07

I’ve had two, both convertibles (one Cooper, one Cooper S). Loved them. More spacious inside than you expect. Fun to drive. Look great. Expensive if things go wrong, but I would have another one, I think they are great cars.

BarbaraofSeville · 24/02/2023 21:41

I had an 08 plate one for a year. Amazing car, loved driving it even though I struggled to get in and out of it with my knackered knees.

Sadly it spectacularly failed its MOT so it would have needed silly money spending to keep running it so I sold it and bought a dull but sensible small petrol car instead.

I'm now hoping that there will be a good scrappage deal on an electric one in a few years time and I might trade in said dull small petrol car for a new one. I didn't find mine especially efficient but that could have been due to the way I drove it Grin

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 24/02/2023 21:52

@PicklesAndTequila both my Minis have been boys. The current one is 'Ambrose Cooper-Smyth' but known as 'Coops' day to day!

OP, they are lovely cars. Had a Cooper S before DD was born. Had to get rid of it as it was too small with a baby, I was gutted. DCs are 9 and 11 now and I have recently bought a Countryman Cooper S. So pleased to have a mini back after a succession of boring cars. I would say the Mini is small in the back which led me to choose the Countryman.

Carsarelife · 24/02/2023 21:55

I have a Cooper D Convertible. No problems whatsoever and very economical. It's 9 years old. Had it about 3 years.
Certain years drink more oil, mine doesn't seem to

33goingon64 · 24/02/2023 21:57

We have a fully electric Mini. It's like driving a very powerful go cart. I love it.

Same, it's probably the shape of them sort of square. I don't like that about them either. I'm not keen on the countryman especially and looking forward to get rid next year.

MajesticWhine · 24/02/2023 22:18

I'm on my 3rd mini. Have a fully electric one now. I absolutely love it.

FoxFeatures · 24/02/2023 22:22

I have a 5 door mini. 4 years old. Leather interior. Automatic. Fast and fun.

My next car will be the electric mini. The best car ever.

CleaningOutMyCloset · 24/02/2023 22:35

I've owned 3 minis, first one was a petrol, I used it as a work vehicle and did approx 25000 miles a year and it never missed a beat. Only sold it when I was expecting and needed a bigger car.
Bought my 2nd one 5 years ago (15 years after I sold the last one), auto d, which again I used for business and pleasure and loved it so much, I've just traded it in for a nearly new one, 2l petrol, auto JCW so it goes like stink and is really good fun to drive.

Touch wood, every one I've had has been faultless, I think they are cracking cars, if you want a small car with a bit of personality
