Night sky tonight

Lovely view of the moon aligned with Venus and Jupiter tonight. Due West, then below the horizon by now Saturn and Mercury. To the South, the clear shoulders of Orion, his three-studded belt below to his battle dress. Just above the shoulders, Mars. The red planet. All with the naked eye here (Midlands). Glorious night sky.

I love this!

It's been so beautiful the last few nights - I didn't know you could see Jupiter without a telescope until I looked it up this week. The crescent moon has made it extra special.

Yes! Pointed the two planets out from the pub window earlier 😁 I use the Google sky map app.

I went for an evening walk the other day and the sky was glorious, I was looking up the entire time and must have looked a bit deranged but, it's absolutely awesome when you get into it.

I love that as we're moving to spring the sky is moving around and the old favourites are coming back into view.

I had a weird thought once about British people emigrating to Australia seeing an entirely unfamiliar night sky....

I just downloaded sky view and ds and I have been standing in the garden getting overexcited by mars. Bloody freezing now but have found my new favourite thing!

Well they are back again. The moon and the two planets.

I have changed my mind about them. Last night I thought they were beautiful in their bright alignment. But today I realised they are a pair of lazy arsed bastards. I was up at 5am, have travelled to work, lots of calls and meetings, helping people in other industries as they go about their productive lives on this vibrant heaving planet.

Yet those two fuckers, Saturn and Mercury, just going around again same as before. Gathering dust, not lifting a fucking finger. They can fuck the fucking off. Cosmic lazy arsed twats.
