All I know of Tik Tok is that you can make and watch videos on it?

How does it differ from YouTube, Twitter, etc?

Why do kids/ teens love it?

Thats basically it. Theres a limit though to the length of the video so they're a max of 3 mins long.

Like most SM there are good & bad contributers. I must admit I find it quite addictive

It's short video clips. It works by sucking out a bit of your soul and sharing it with the internet every time you use it.

It's really not suitable for kids.

But okay for adults, depends on the algorithm really.

You scroll through short video clips and the algorithm shifts according to what you watch and 'like' (and if you press and hold you can select 'dislike' and 'not interested'). There are a whole range of clips - my For You Page is mostly recipes, make up/skincare reviews, stationery / scrapbooking / bullet journalling ideas, style and beauty stuff, funny skits and parenting hacks. I like it - I use it more than insta and I've never got on with Snapchat or twitter. The only thing I don't like is that being videos it demands all of your attention so you can't idly scroll through while doing something else.
