The itching stopped as soon as i shaved it i`m going to
embrace it and never dye it again going to embrace the grey.

Could you post a link to the wrap please?

Glad the itch has eased for you. I too have embraced the grey, no more dying for me!

RosieProbert · 23/02/2023 18:18

I often think about doing this. Good for you!

Arthurflecksfacepaint · 23/02/2023 18:20

I often think it would look so much better to shave the lot off and start again rather than grow out the grey so painfully slowly.

Going by the roots that come through, my hair is now totally grey under the dye. I’m 43 and not ready to go grey yet, but when I am, I will seriously consider that option.

I was so relieved when I stopped colouring my hair. Grey and free!

notangelinajolie · 23/02/2023 18:21

Oh I would really love to do this. Glad you've got rid of the itch.

MissWings · 23/02/2023 18:22

Wow you shaved it all off? Brave. Good lord. How exciting!!!!

Enjoy the grey coming in.

Andylion · 23/02/2023 18:23

I really wish I had shaved my head during lockdown as I hardly went out. But my hair is very fine, and thinning, with my luck, it wouldn’t have grown back.

AdoraBell · 23/02/2023 18:23

Glad the itching has stopped.

mindspace32 · 23/02/2023 18:24

Shaved my head 2 years ago and kept it shaved for a while, I loved it. So easy in the mornings lol. I think about doing it again all the time

CoedenNadoligLanOHyd · 23/02/2023 18:27

I shaved mine and embraced the grey, and haven't dyed it since.

Growing out the curly mop was messy, but its done now!

WoofWoofBeachLife · 23/02/2023 18:29

How long was your hair? I thought about shaving mine off last year as it was so unhealthy and I just wanted to go natural after colouring it for years, I had used henna during lockdown as well then did a bleach wash 🙃
I opted for a short cut, from rib length, and all the colour is gone now. I'm embracing my silver highlights, natural blonde and some amazing copper that I had no idea I had, all natural. Good on you for being so brave I wish I had done this years ago xx

I went for a grade 2 in lockdown to see what it looked like. Still have it now 😊 going greyer by the minute but not enough hair to look at really 🤣🤣

WinterMusings · 23/02/2023 18:50

That was brave. Glad the itching has stopped & that you're happy with it.

my head is very square. I'd like to see what it would look like shaved, but I'll wait until I can do it virtually.

I'm 54 it's been long since I was about 3 or 4. Shortest it's been is just below my shoulder. It's currently halfway down my bum, but it does need a cut to make a blunt line.

I know I'd hate it shaved.

it's currently natural colour plus a bit of grey around the temples. Tried dying it a few years ago, the hairdresser had a lot of trouble with it, so I stopped bothering.

GotABeatForYouMama · 23/02/2023 19:14

I'm going to keep dying me until the day I depart this world. If I had grey hair I probably would give the dye a miss as grey hair can look really good. Mine is snow white and I would just look like a fat cotton bud if I went natural.

GotABeatForYouMama · 23/02/2023 19:15

Dying mine not me. Flipping typo

Valentina12 · 23/02/2023 19:38

God I’d love to suit that but my head is massive and a weird shape so it would look fucking dreadful 😂

Booblessbeauty · 23/02/2023 19:43

I have a shaved head, and I love it. I also find the world is very kind to bald women! I did it because I am on chemo, and I don't know if I would do it in other situations, largely because it upsets my adult sons, who are superstars and take very great care of me. I have to say baldness is for me a real plus point of chemo, as well as curing cancer, obviously

NannyGythaOgg · 23/02/2023 20:15

When my head itches after dying I take an antihystamine and thankfully that sorts it.

I really wouldn't have the courage to shave it all off. Good for you, and so glad you like it.

PurpleButterflyWings · 23/02/2023 20:23

Definitely very brave You couldn't PAY me enough to shave my head ... OR 'embrace the grey.' Hell will freeze over before I allow my hair to go grey. Nope. No way. Never.

Luckily I was a late starter with 'the grey...' Flecks of grey started showing through at around 48-50, (around the temples,) and even some 8-10 years later, only about 10-15% of my hair is greying. I am quite fortunate. Nevertheless, I still dye my hair (blonde...) and cover the greying bits.... I can't see myself EVER 'embracing the grey.'

Fortunately I have never had an itchy scalp/itchy head when I have dyed my hair. (I do it about every 6-8 weeks.)

Sorry, but that made me laugh. My square head, your cotton bud, we could make a great combo!

Mine's mostly shaved with a long bit on top. I love it too and have SO many head scarves.
