So it's apparent that's I'm a rubbish cook but I'm hoping you can help me. I bought butcher burgers a while ago and froze them. I took them out this morning and they're obviously still frozen but can I cook them from frozen or do they need to defrost?

You can cook mince from frozen so I'm assuming burgers are the same. Cook them longer though.

You can buy frozen burgers that you cook directly from frozen, so I'd think you could do the same with your ones. I'd cook them at a slightly lower temp and for a bit longer than you'd do for non frozen ones. Check they're piping hot in the middle before eating.

You can cook from frozen. Cook them lower temp and slower (perhaps do them in the oven); if you grill/fry like normal you'll have frazzled outside edge and raw in the middle. Cut a slice in one to check when you think it's done.
