Sadly died at the age of 77. Whether or not you are a football fan, he was at least part of our television lives for fifty-odd years.

He was great & very much the voice of football when I was growing up. Very sad he’s died.

Very sad, seemed lovely and just had one of those iconic voices that I've loved to hear all my life.

Sad news, met him a few years back and he was so lovely to my DS and signed an autograph for him. DS has met a few footballers, managers etc and John Motson is the one remembers meeting the most fondly.
