Is Mumsnet now the equivalent of a sex-pest DP?

"Hey, do you want to reignite intimacy?"

No thank you.

"Come on. Let's reignite some intimacy - it's so important in helping a relationship survive."

No thank you.

"You know what you need? Bedroom toys."

No, and that's enough already.

"New bedroom toys would help reignite intimacy..."

Fuck off now. I don't want to hear "Reignite intimacy" or "bedroom toys" again.

"But I want to talk about how people reignite intimacy. After pushing a 9lb baby out of their intimacy canal."

Seriously fuck off. I'm sick of the pestering.

"Bedroom toys are great for a battered intimacy area..."

I'm going in the other room now, do not follow me. How did you get in here?

"There's another door and you can't lock that one So, about the sex toys and getting back in the saddle..."

I must admit I come on here a lot less now there’s so many add links in the thread lists.

IncompleteSenten · 23/02/2023 09:27

😁 pretty much, yes.

I remember when mine were born. I was knackered, sore, bleeding like a stuck pig, crying, anxious...

The only time in my entire life I felt less sexy was when I had violent d&v, had to decide which end to point at the loo and did not choose wisely.

Like I don't mind what they do on the sex board, which I can block. But first disguising ads as threads, making them hard not to see, and then endlessly running ads/fake threads with some dubious content..it's so scummy.

I mean you could just close the browser.

NetballHoop · 23/02/2023 09:36

It's really annoying. I can only imagine that it'll make Mumsnet come up higher when people search for sex. Maybe they are the new target audience?

As for the ads disguised as threads, I think they are really deceitful and the kind of thing that should be banned by the Advertising Standards Association.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 23/02/2023 09:40

It's part of why I'm growing out of MN !

Agreed

Clymene · 23/02/2023 09:41

I didn't know that's what they'd done re pretending an ad is a thread. That's really sleazy.

BreviloquentBastard · 23/02/2023 09:41

I haven't seen any of these infamous toy ads yet, MN must have decided I'm past it.

MN must have decided I'm past it.

I would love a few nice ads for Viking River Tours.

😂😂nailed it OP! Hilarious wording! The only toy I want in the bedroom is a (free) state of the art cleaning robot that can tackle the laundry mountain, dust and de clutter the junk

QueefQueen80s · 23/02/2023 09:52

Literally said this on another thread! Just feels like another pressure. STOP PRESSURING MUMS TO BE SOMETHING THAT MEN WANT!

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 23/02/2023 09:53

Not to mention all the creeps it's bringing to the site. 🤮🤮
Honestly thinking of going back to netmums.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 23/02/2023 10:09

In fairness I think the threads about trail running shoes and damp proof courses and ear-mites in spaniels will probably drive the creeps off to more fruitful territory.
