Would a cleaner do this?

I have never been a domestic goddess but just recently things have slipped due to work, study, kids etc. I am finding that the house always looks presentable-ish to the untrained eye, as I have time to do a quick wipe of work surfaces and a hoover of the living room, but I never do any big jobs. I couldn't tell you the last time I cleaned the skirting boards, or wiped down the furniture, etc.

I was wondering, would a cleaner do this? If I had a huge list of 'spring clean' type jobs such as the above, and they worked their way through them during the eg 2 hours a week? Has anyone done similar or is this completely infeasible?

Any decent cleaner will work on what you ask them to do.
Over time they should know what needs doing and when.

MeinKraft · 22/02/2023 20:35

Yeah I mean obviously their time is limited but you could ask them to do a deep clean of a different room every week.

if you find a good one they will, but it’s not guaranteed ime.

I'm a cleaner and yes I do this

I would say a deep clean first, advise what needs done etc.
Then if you keel them weekly they'll keep on top of them

MeatballHead · 22/02/2023 20:37

Yes of course a good cleaner does it automatically

We have only had a cleaner for 2 weeks. I have little list of things I’d like her to concentrate on as, like you I do the basics.
I do need bins, skirting, blinds, etc doing which isn’t much to ask imo.

Mine does but we talked about it before she started. She does three hours cleaning the (small) house, one hour folding laundry, one hour a different task each week like cleaning the fridge out.

TheSnowyOwl · 22/02/2023 20:38

I would get a cleaner in to deep clean the entire house and then have them back weekly or bi weekly to keep on top of things.

Bemyclementine · 22/02/2023 20:39

When I had a cleaner, she did all the basics and I did the extras as and when. She would also do a bit extra if she had time sbd noticed something needed doing.
