Wife’s 50th birthday

Wifw is turning 50 in 2 weeks. We are going away on a city break abroad for a long weekend with our young children, it’s a surprise. My family are celebrating a birthday for another relative around the same time so are combining it with my wife’s. Her side of the family haven’t been in contact with her or i to try and find a time to meet. Now I’m worrying the ball should have been in my court to arrange something for her with them. Should i be doing the arranging or would you think if they wanted to do something they would be in contact? Not wanting to annoy anyone! Her family live 4 hours away so it would need a little thought re organising. Up to them or me? I don’t think she will be that worried about seeing them.

It’s usually on the person organising the surprise to contact people but, if they haven’t even mentioned her birthday, maybe they weren’t planning on seeing her anyway?

If it’s on your mind, just contact them with a breezy message wondering if they’d like to arrange to meet up to celebrate.

If you don’t and they kick off about it, you’ll be kicking yourself as well.
