Crossed telephone lines

Has anyone had any interesting ones?

I've just rang the DVLA and could very clearly hear someone talking to their vet about obtaining a copy of their cat's vaccination certificates. So odd-I knew I hadn't misdialed as I'd gone through the whole selecting of different options malarky!

I didn't think they happened any longer

I’ve not had that happen for decades!
I remember as a young 18/19 year old chatting away to my friend when a male voice suddenly started shouting at me to get off the line! I was so shocked I just hung up. That was 30 odd years ago.

That's horrible of him! I'd have hung up too. I did tell the DVLA who said they'd let 'The IT Guys' know. So odd.

Ooh that is so 1970s. Interesting. "You put the phone down. No, I was here first - you put the phone down"

Plus listening in on the extension upstairs, until you were rumbled - "I can hear you breathing!"

I think it’s just that there’s less landlines to get crossed with rather than anything actually improving. Also it happens more to some lines than others, that man might just have been really fed up with it (not excusing him).

Ha ha yes. I remember being caught out on a party line by my breathing. Also never managed to put the hand set down mid call without the "click" which gave away you were listening in. Happy days
