Whose got a BT Basic Email

Want to move from BT as getting expensive,we have broadband and landline and an email with them at over £60 a month. Don’t use the landline but have some sort of calls package on it. Would like to know if there is such a thing as just landline no package and is that cheaper. Also if we dump them and landline can I keep my email and is their FREE Basic Email option any good. Want to armed with info for the dreaded call

I’ve just done this move for my dad. He gets to keep the basic email for free and it does EVERYTHING he’s ever done with it. He can’t create alias addresses - but basically gets to use mydad@bt exactly the same way as he has done for the last 15 years. I think he can now only use the web portal to access rather than having a stand-alone email app - but it’s hardly a big hardship.
