Sending something worth £600+ from London to Glasgow. Not a large package (a mobile phone). Any recommendations for the safest most reliable way to do this?

Royal Mail Special Delivery. I wouldn’t use anything else for this and make sure if it’s something you have sold that you are aware of the many scams for selling expensive phones. Etc.

You will have to ask for extra insurance to cover it as well as I think it’s by default only £500.

If you have sold it you are relying on the buyer to be honest. Many buyers claim it hasn't arrived or you have sent an empty box. So many scams regarding transactions like this. Be careful.

Thanks for the tips. It's OK, I haven't sold it, I'm sending it to a family member.

For valuable items I would recommend using a same day courier service. Same Day couriers often provide a dedicated service from A to B. This reduces chances of goods getting damaged or lost in transit. Check out the same day courier service uk.
