Crochet Help!

Hi there,

I'm in need of some advice. I'm a total beginner at crochet and these instructions don't make sense to me. The first instruction says to 'dc4 into ring', but every video tutorial I find is only for dc6 into a ring. Help please?

Pretend you’re going to do six (just to fool the video) but stop at four.

Just only follow the video up to 4 dc, then stop and move to the second row.

Do you know how to make a magic ring? For this you need to make a magic ring then make 4 double crochets into the magic ring.
For round one you are going to do an increase (2 double crochets in the same stitch) in the first stitch and then a double crochet in the next. Repeat for the the next 2 stitches
