My Dd is having a new friend over this week, I said they could do some activities especially as she's not been to our house before so want her to feel comfortable
What kind of things would you suggest?
Cake making / decorating that kind of thing,

Maybe some jewellery making. Or they could make up a dance routine and perform it to you.

My dd has got into loom bands and aqua beads if you've got any sets. Also biscuit decorating (and baking too if you want), nail painting and making each other up.

If staying for dinner... pizza making

Tie dye went down well with my DDs (9&11) recently

Last time DD(10) had a friend over I'd just had a delivery. They played in a cardboard box for half an hour Hmm

I want to try that marble painting with DC.

gingerbread house?

What sort of thing does your DD like doing? I'd go with something she knows how to do, they're not going to want you hanging out with them at the table.

soap making kit? Science kit?
Do you have outdoor space or indoor only?

PeacheyPeach · 20/02/2023 21:09

Yes I was thinking of nail painting, and some baking. I think things that they can do without my supervision is best, the last thing dd wants is me hanging around. Might nip to the works tomorrow as they usually have little kits like soap making, marble painting x
Dd wants to have a little teaparty so maybe they could make their own little cakes for it!

Mine just want to play at that age and didn't really want me involved! Sometimes made cookies but more played in room or in living room/garden together.

At this age my DD and her friends often played at home cinema. Choose a film to watch, arrange the seating, make tickets and have a sweet shop/popcorn. Then watch the film. Very cute.
