Babysitting

What does everybody do in terms of babysitting/childcare for date nights/nights away?

my parents have both DC two boys 8 & 2 twice a week whilst I work (8-4 oldest at school)

They are young and healthy (63 &65) and offered to have them when first DC was born and asked to have second DS whilst I worked.

my PIL love 2 hours away and don’t see them often for context

so it’s just that really, my mom always says she will have them and I’d rather them go there but how often is taking the actual piss?

we have different circles of friends who are always asking us to do certain things, we prioritise our date nights over going out with friends but sometimes get the feeling we’re missing out.

can someone just bring me back down to earth (think I just have some fomo from talking about plans for summer nights out etc)

Find a local babysitter. Do any of your neighbours or friends have a teenager?.

No my parents don’t have my children because they don’t want to. I would have to pay for a babysitter but I prefer to just not go out!

No local family. I pay a sitter.

To those who pay a sitter, how do you feel leaving your kids with them?
