Day trips from Cheshire with baby

Would love some recommendations for day trips, as I want to explore what's on my doorstep a bit more.

5 months into Mat leave and other than popping into Manchester, I've barely left my town and I'm BORED. I miss being spontaneous.

I've not lived in Cheshire long and am pretty clueless, I have a car and good train access but ideally don't want a drive over 90 mins.

I'm definitely planning a train trip to London, but not sure where to go locally; Cheshire, GM, Derbyshire etc...

Chester is lovely.
Delamere forest for walks if you've got a buggy with decent wheels.
Dunham Park
Tatton Park
RHS Bridgewater Garden
Salford Quays - Lowry centre, small shopping outlet & Imperial War Museum of the North
Tate Gallery and Maritime museum in Liverpool
Trafford centre if you're really desperate!
There's quite a lot of canals and trails on disused railway paths which would probably be ok to walk with a buggy.

Museums/galleries are a great idea!

I really like Trentham Estate - it’s for everything! Gardens, boat trips, cafes, a shopping village, lakeside walk, woodland etc…

Such good value in Cheshire - Lyme Park, Dunham Massey, Styal, Tatton (pay to get on estate), with a baby carrier there's Little Moreton Hall, Biddulph Grange, Hare Hill. You can walk some Alderley Edge paths with a buggy.

Outside the National Trust there's Middlewood Way, Salt Line, Wheelock Valley Way. Cheshire Farm Ice cream, Snugbury's, a walk round small towns like Nantwich or Knutsford.

I agree Trentham is lovely.

I live in South Cheshire and sometimes we drive to the coast on the Wirral or Formby for dog walks.

Wirral country park is just over an hour way and has beach access (check tide times), Formby is slightly longer to get to but has a huge beach for walking, reached by a walk through woods. There is a NT car park, but also easy parking in Formby itself.

There are also places like Macclesfield forest for walks, many places in Derbyshire eg Bakewell, Matlock, Chatsworth, Castleton, all worth a day out and not too far to drive (depending on whereabouts in Cheshire you are).

I think Liverpool has something like 6 museums, all free, there are also the Manchester museums.

Which side of Cheshire are you on, it is a huge county?
