Considering trying jobs that are outside my comfort zone and wondering if it's possible to just quit after a couple of months if they suck.

Tell me your cool stories about doing this and how you overcame it at your next interview. Or tell me how badly it went for your career, I want to hear all about it!

Personally I think you can only this once or twice before it would become an issue, DH moved jobs a few times within 2 years of starting, for career development and had to provide good valid reasons why. Someone moving a times after a couple of months would be a red flag for me

I did this once and quit around 6 months after starting. It was quite a drastic change and I moved from workplace A to workplace B and then back to workplace A but in a different team.

I told the truth and it was ‘I really enjoyed my time at XX but felt that it wasn’t quite the right move for me. That’s why I’ve decided to come back to YY and I’m looking forward to the new challenges’.

They seemed ok with it and I was offered the role. Keep it simple, be unapologetic, and don’t answer a question that you weren’t asked. E.g. if they don’t ask you why you left your last job quickly then don’t say 🤷‍♀️
