British Gas nagged me for ages to get a smart meter. I thought one of their reasons was that there would be no more need for them to send someone to read the meter, or for me to submit readings.
I had one installed in November and today I've had an email from them asking me to submit meter readings (we get gas and electric from them). Their website suggests I would need to do this if I was a new customer or if I have an old model of smart meter. Neither applies. The smart meter seems to be functioning fine as far as I can see. Have I completely misunderstood and will have to keep submitting readings?
