Do high-waisted trousers make anyone else feel nauseaous and uncomfortable?!

For 5+ years now, I've really struggled with trousers. Anything tight around my stomach makes me feel awful, including trousers and (god forbid) tights. I'm not wearing the wrong size - if I size up, I have to constantly pull my trousers up. I now only wear yoga leggings and playsuits. Anyone else have this issue? Any comfortable trouser recommendations?

Yes me, I can’t bear a skinny jean or anything with a tight waistband. Firstly they’re uncomfortable and secondly makes me feel like I don’t have room for my food to go into my tummy. Comfy trousers are the way forward.

Same here, I only wear low waisted trousers which are hard to find.

I have that feeling with tights; I always feel like they mess with my digestion and it is such a relief to get them off.

I agree, I hate anything squeezing me around the middle.

Horispondle · 18/02/2023 21:44

I am the same with trousers but I can bear tights now that I have discovered just buying them 2-3 sizes bigger made all the difference!

WhisperingAutistic · 18/02/2023 21:46

I'm the same. I detest the feeling of any pressure on my middle.

megletthesecond · 18/02/2023 21:46

Yes. They trigger IBS for me.

NorthernChinchilla · 18/02/2023 21:49

Yep.

My only advice is never wear tights- have hold ups instead. Next do mid rise jeans which I've lived in. I desperately need new work trousers but I have to buy 2 sizes bigger for current high waisted trousers to feel comfy, so am holding out till waistbands drop again then buying loads!

Fluffygreenslippers · 18/02/2023 21:53

I don’t have this with trousers but I can’t bear anything touching my neck! It makes me feel physically sick. No polo necks or slightly high necked tops, not even tight necklaces. Chokers are completely out. I found out recently my grandmother is the same.

Fluffygreenslippers · 18/02/2023 21:54

Just wanted to add-have you tried dungarees?

Batcountry8 · 18/02/2023 21:58

Yes same here I can't stand anything tied around my waist or sitting on my waist.
I've always felt this way, it almost makes me want to cry.
Horrible.
No IBS, normal waist shape really.
Constrictive.

merlotlover · 18/02/2023 21:58

Eugh hate anything tight round my Tum. I've found flares like legging material and love them!

User4670 · 18/02/2023 22:06

I have the same problem. I buy tights in a bigger size and wear mid rise jeans. Only time it got better was when I had an 8 week course of omeprazole for gastritis and then I could wear tight stuff around my waist without pain. Now that no longer on omeprazole I can’t wear anything tight around waist again unfortunately.

BigButtons · 18/02/2023 22:28

I LOATHE anything round my waist. I have a short torso and long legs. There is almost no gap between the bottom of my ribs and the top of my pelvis. I can’t wear anything high waisted or any belts at the waist. I feel as if my midsection is being strangled!

sarahb083 · 19/02/2023 08:35

Oh @merlotlover what brand are they?

Yes, me too. I bought some low-waisted jeans recently and OMG they feel amazing.

I've also acquired quite a few onesie type things from Free People and Hush.
