Ultrasound results

I have a routine ultrasound tomorrow on a (possibly?) enlarged lymph node. I was just wondering whether, in general, you get an overview of what it looks like given verbally at the time or if you have to just wait for results?

I remember in the breast clinic I was told it was fine there and then but I know that’s more of a one stop shop.

I’m not even particularly worried but my life recently is just such a constant slog of getting (unrelated) hospital appointments booked and then going to them and then having stuff done and waiting for results and then follow up appointments… If I have to wait for the results it might push me over the edge!

Literally just been googling this as getting ultrasound guided biopsy next week. Am assuming a 2 week wait for results

God I’ll be so annoyed if I have to wait for the results. It genuinely really puts me off going to the GP for things like this which is ridiculous 😂

If this ever happened before I never minded that much beyond slight worry when I thought too much about it, but in the last year and a half I’ve had an abnormal smear which I’ve had to follow up and been diagnosed with two chronic conditions. I literally never want to see another hospital letter again.

I hope it all works out fine for you!

You'll need to wait for the results as the scan will need reviewing by a consultant.

That’s what I’ve been worried about. It’s odd because I’ve read conflicting things where people have said that they are told they don’t need a biopsy, or that they do due to concerning features on the scan, and then they have it at the same appointment.
I guess there’s no way of knowing until I have it done.

I'm expecting it to be cancer as I'm still recovering from the last lot in May 2022. Hope it's better for you though!
