Gatwick Airport security wait rimes

Forestfever · 18/02/2023 05:34

Has anyone gone through Gatwick Airport security (south terminal) recently? Especially around 5am. Was the wait long?

i know it's currently the end of half term for some and the beginning of half term for others.

Not recently at that time, but you will sail through. I went through at 6 in August and had checked in and gone through security in less than 15 minutes.

I went a week ago and took 10mins. It will be empty at 5am.

If you have children, go to the family security area at the end of the terminal.

I go every week - generally fast early in the morning but pretty rammed this week because of half-term. Gatwick is super-efficient though and gets people through quickly.
As pp has said you can go through the family gate, depends how old your kids are because that can be full of buggies and babies which slows things down.
if you’re feeling flush you can pay for the priority lane which is £6 each

Thank you all. I was trying to work out if it was worth paying for priority. Given my baby has had me up half the night anyway and does most nights, I can't imagine getting up and out the house on time or early will be a problem.

By pretty rammed, how long do you think it took to go through approximately?
