Visiting London, recommend a good hotel?

We're visiting London in the next month or so and are looking for a hotel that has good reviews, comfy beds, cooked breakfast, near a tube station or central, preferably something a bit special, but not hideously expensive! It's just the two of us, no kids, so king sized or double bed.

Can anyone recommend anything?

TIA

Sea Containers is nice - if you join their nailing list you get 15% off

Look at the leonardo group. St Paul’s one is v good.

Last minute and late rooms often have good deals. If you have avios, you can spend them on room only? If you have an Amex, check to see if there are any offers on for hotel groups.

Definitely recommend St Martin’s lane and the Sanderson hotels. Or any of the firmdale hotels. Sea containers is very nice but location is a bit awkward. Obviously avoiding school hols dates will help with the price.

Just been to Jacuzzi restaurant in ken high st recently if you are looking for a buzzy place with great food. Reservations open 20 days before tho, so get in quick.

have fun!

Thank you! I'll look into all these 😊 Recommendations for good places to eat also welcome, thanks!

I stayed at The Clermont Victoria recently. Such a nice room/bed/bathroom. They have standard and premium rooms (tho probably don’t call them that). Go for the better one, they are fab.

The Queen’s Gate Hotel is lovely, 10 minutes walk from the Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Gardens.

Premier Inn. We like the one near Old Street or the one near the tower.

nevertakeadvicefromsomeonewhosfallingapart · 18/02/2023 08:00

Thanks. Ideally we want something a bit more special than a premier inn. We don't go away much and would like to make it a special occasion, but without it costing the world.

Royal horse guards, ask for a river view. Pollen street social was lovely but expensive.

We liked Hyde Park Hilton, righ atop Queensway station.

Used to be the Coburg which was featured in Alfred Hitchcock's "Frenzy." Smile

The Londoner on Leicester Square or Leonardo St Paul's. At the St Paul's one you can pick an executive room with a view of St Paul's.

Blake's Hotel looks lovely but not sure if it's open.
