What lifestyle habits can lead to the walls of your bladder totally crystalising up?

This has happened to my df and he's had his bladder removed and a bag fitted. He was never a drinker or a smoker. I'm at a loss to understand how this has happened. That said, we didn't see each other often (more chat on the phone) so I'm not really aware how healthily/or not he lived. He's still fit enough to live independently/drive etc. His kidneys are fine.

Could be due to enlarged prostate causing incomplete emptying of bladder.

Maybe consistently just not drinking enough?

Why are you assuming it's as a result of a lifestyle choice ? How old is your Father ? People age and things go wrong, even if they have led totally fit and healthy and blameless lives.

And genetics.

And some a lot of men have a tendency to ignore certain symptoms, even though they are common place and should be talked about as much as the menopause.
