Where to live in Manchester?

What are the nice areas of Manchester I could buy with a 190k budget? Safety is a priority. Would like a house rather than a flat. Being near shops/bars/reataurants would be nice but im realistic and know my budget is small in todays housing market. Would like to avoid North Manchester as further from work/family etc. Thank you

Would suggest around Stockport, or Macclesfield if you were willing to go a bit further out. Sadly there are a lot of areas you'd be priced out of. You'd definitely get a terraced in either of those two towns.
Anywhere around Altrincham, Timperley or Sale for example are just really expensive now.

if you were open to a flat it would open up your search area a bit to places like Urmston, sale, Timperley (but you’d still struggle)
