Is there such a thing as a decent anti travel sickness treatment that does not make you fall asleep?!!

Everything I can see on the market says that it can cause marked drowsiness.

The only non-drowsy alternatives seem to be herbal alternatives.

Is there something that I’m missing as I have a ferry trip coming up that I am dreading, and I can’t be falling asleep in charge of 4 kids.

Do they actually make you drowsy? I've yet to find one that does me. I just take them and feel totally normal (but not sick). I take kwells or the generic Boots version.

I’m fine with kwells

You need to try them out. Stugeron don’t make me drowsy, but kwells I can’t function on at all and they make me feel drunk. Dd takes kwells and doesn’t feel sleepy/drunk at all.

Unfortunately for a lot of them their action is sedation. They are anti histamines at the far end of the scale for drowsiness. Some people are very susceptible & others aren't!

Just try them before you go so you know if they make you sleepy or not. We all had Quells for a boat trip and none of us were sleepy.

I find the pills stop me being sick but don't stop me feeling sick, which is miserable. I wear wristbands and take ginger. It's probably psychological but works for me.

Hmmm, so this is the worry.

Anti-histamines like Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride and Promethazine tend to knock me out for a night!

Does anybody know if the type of antihistamines in Kwells or Sturgeron are very similar to those?

They are all antihistamines so if you are sensitive they are likely to make you drowsy. I would try them & see.
