If you're spening quality time with your 16yo this half term, what are you doing?

I know many 16yos want to be doing their own thing at half term, but if you're spending quality time with yours, what are you up to? I've been for a walk, lunch and clothes shopping today with my 16yo son, but looking for ideas for another day. (Ideally things that can be done spontaneously as planning ahead isn't our forte. We tried to go swimming, but it was booked up. We investigated cinema, but it was all either too kiddy or too gruesome).

Any interesting exhibitions on at your local galleries? There's a lot of interesting interactive stuff at galleries now.

Any visitor attractions nearby that you've just never got around to? Brewery tours? Football stadium tours?

DS and I watched the Beauty and the Beast 30th anniversary on Disney+
Followed by Lyle Lyle Crocodile.

Hes not a very typical 16 year old though!

15 yo dd and I - pottering round charity shops, a day pottering round London, and we binge watched a tv series in 2 days. It’s really easy with dd cause we both enjoy doing the same things.

14 yo ds hangs out more with dh. They go climbing a bit (indoor bouldering) and play basketball together.

We all watched a film together this afternoon.

We played tennis one day and Horseriding one day. They had friends over one day. Out to a musical tomorrow evening.

This week we are away with 16yo ds. We have been birdwatching, out on night walks to look for owls, gone on lots of long walks over the moors, gone out for nice meals, played board games... I appreciate that lots of teens are not interested in wildlife, but he is!

At home? We play tennis or squash, go out for walks, watch films, that kind of thing.

We did a day out at a local seaside town.
