I have always wanted to do this. I live nearish to Heathrow, I’m 45, kids are late teens so starting to get some freedom back in my life. No experience but I want a new job/some excitement/to travel more. Would I be mad to look into this? Am I too old? Would anyone want to employ me? I’d rather do long haul than short if I had the choice. Is it feasible / possible?

@sarahtalkstoomuch thank you so much for all the info! You make it sound exactly like I hoped it would be! I’ve done nothing but customer racing roles for the last 20 years but am bored with my particular job so really fancy a change… I think I’d love it.
I’ll have to keep checking the BA site for the opening up of more vacancies!

I worked for BA (on mixed fleet) 2011-2013 and loved it. It's true you can bid for what days you want and also which trips. I used to love the Baku trip so I would put all my bids into Baku. When I was training, I put all my bids into Las Vegas because I was desperate to go there, so I had 3 back to back trips to Vegas in my first month- rookie error :) Vegas was one of the worst trips as you only got 1 night there and 2 days off after! Tokyo Haneda was also a great trip as it was 4 days long.

It was great fun, I feel with this role you really need to love it and be in it for the opportunity and experience because the money is poor. Unfortunately the passion went for me eventually, but I don't regret a second of it!

Baku!!! See, that’s the sort of place I would LOVE to go! The more weird & random the better 🤣 I genuinely love flying and random stopovers so I’d be so excited 😆

A friend just started at BA, she’s just turned 60 and is loving it. Go for it !

No way! That's brilliant.

Has anyone recently applied for Cabin Crew and has children? Would be good to hear any application news and thoughts.

Bumping as would also love to hear how others who have kids have managed to do this
