Should I attempt to get a GP appointment tomorrow?

I've had a sore throat for nearly a month now all on one side. It's really sore to swallow, my ear started hurting today and I've had an on/off migraine through it all. When I look at my throat it is bright red but no pus on my tonsils.

It's making me miserable now. Is there a point to seeing a GP about it or is there a miracle home remedy I need to try?

No! if there’s no puss it’s sounds viral, sometimes these things take a while to pass. drink plenty, vitamins, paracetamol, sleep

NHS advice is to seek advice if persists more than 3-4 weeks. They may send you off to ENT. Definitely phone, you must feel rough.

Thanks for the advice. I thought I'd provide an update, but it's looking likely to be my thyroid. The Dr thinks it's enlarged and my voice is affected so I've got to have bloods etc done and go from there.

Thank you for the nudge and see this as a reminder that seemingly minor things do need checking out!

Have you spoken to a pharmacist? They give great advice and some are allowed to prescribe antibiotics for things like uti's, ear/throat infections
