Should I be at hospital with DH?

My husband has been called by the hospital to say that his Mum is fading away. I would normally have gone with him, but I currently have a sickness bug.
I feel awful about not being at the bedside for MIL and to support DH. His father, brother and sister in law are there though.
I just felt that it would have been a really bad thing for me to bring an illness onto the hospital ward.
What would you have done? I feel terrible not going but would have also felt terrible if I had gone into the hospital.

I’m sorry to hear he’s losing his mum but you can’t possibly go into a hospital ward with a sickness bug.

I know you’d like to be there but it would be really irresponsible.

You can be there for him when he’s back.

Obviously you can't go, that would be criminal. It's very sad for your DH but at least they're all together. Wishing your DH's mum a peaceful passing.

Definitely do NOT go anywhere NEAR within 48 hours of the last time you’ve been unwell. Sorry but your husband will manage to cope and you can help in other ways and message etc.
Get well soon and I hope his mum passes peacefully.

That thoroughly sucks, but you can't go. As well as the patients, a sickness bug is the last thing your DH and his family need.

It's a long road, there will be plenty of time for you to support them.

Thank you so much all for reassuring me that I have made the correct decision. It means a lot. ❤️
