Would you have corrected her or ignored?

I was walking to my car after picking ds from school. I park 5 minutes away from the school.

Another little boy from ds class was walking the same way and as we turned the corner where our car was the boy shouted "bye dsname" to my ds.

Ds said bye back and we carried on to the car.

The boys mum started calling to him as he was walking slower and she was saying she wanted to get home. The l little boy said that he was saying bye and ye mum said, loudly enough for me to hear and in a sort of off ish tone "well he hasn't said bye back has he, he's ignored you so come on".

I just ignored it and carried on to my car but I felt that she was being funny for no reason. I felt like correcting her that actually he did say bye.

I would've ignored it too

She might not have heard him? Just ignore it

BrutusMcDogface · 16/02/2023 22:02

I probably would have turned round with a friendly smile and said to the boy, “He did say bye! Sorry, didn’t you hear him? Say bye again, DS!” The poor little boy probably thought he was being ignored and that’s why he slowed down.

Who cares, god I wish I had such ridiculous worries.

Ignore

DungareeDana · 17/02/2023 06:22

I would have said what Brutus said at the time but I absolutely wouldn't be thinking about it later whatever I said or did at the time. She didn't hear him, it doesn't matter.

Why did you think that? Why didn't you just think she had not heard him? And now she knows that you definitely did ignore him and her.

OP I think this is taking up a lot of your headspace given you're posting about it on a forum. It's a small thing and assume she just didn't hear you.

I would have just done what @BrutusMcDogface suggested and thought nothing more of it.
