Cool teen boy backpack

My DS will be starting secondary school next year, and I want to get him a new backpack to celebrate when he finds out which one he is going to in a couple of weeks. I think mostly they wear Nike around here... are there any other cool ones? Thank you.

Nike or Adidas round here.

ChicoryDip · 15/02/2023 21:16

Nike and North Face are popular here but no guarantee that they will still be the rucksack of choice in September. You could hang around the school at home time and see what the boys are mostly using.

Also check school policy as there may be rules around logos and colours.

Nike or adidas here

Thank you. Guess I can't go wrong with Nike! Smile

Ds tends to use an Adidas one

dementedpixie · 15/02/2023 22:43

www.adidas.co.uk/power-backpack/HB1324.html think this is ds's. Has side mesh pockets that hold his water bottle

Fellsbluemist · 15/02/2023 22:47

North Face is expensive but will last lots of years.

VirtualRealitee · 15/02/2023 22:50

It's all about Adidas nowadays.

fruitpastille · 15/02/2023 22:54

Whatever sports direct have in that is suitable and similar to every other boy...

I remember sweet little DS starting year 7 insisting that his colourful hype backpack from primary school was fine as there was nothing wrong with it, despite me suggesting a new one like everyone else. 2 terms later he was completely assimilated with black Nike.

HolidayHappy123 · 15/02/2023 22:58

Eastpak or Herschel here.

Plus the obligatory black North Face Nupse puffer jacket.

BookShark · 15/02/2023 23:10

DS (13) has a North Face one as his school rucksack as it's actually pretty decent in terms of a waist strap as well as shoulder ones etc. He seems to have ignored the fact he has a locker so has to carry all his books for the day, plus tablet and often football boots, shinpads etc. so needed something fairly large.

But at the weekends he looks like he's sponsored by Lyle & Scott - hoody, small rucksack, reporter bag etc. (depending on bag size needs). He's not a fan of a huge logo and seems to have decided it's nicely understated. I've decided not to interfere! I think he may be in the minority there though, most of his friends just shove stuff in their pockets, but he prefers pocketless trakkie bottoms...

Purrfecto · 15/02/2023 23:19

Adidas or Nike seem the most popular choice at our school.

StanleyBriggs · 15/02/2023 23:46

I wouldn't overthink it, round here they mostly want as plain black as possible. Ditto pencil case. Whatever has the least chance of having any distinguishing feature whatsoever.

FavouriteSlippers · 15/02/2023 23:48

North face. Nike

StanleyBriggs · 15/02/2023 23:52

But like @fruitpastille said, he resisted a new rucksack before starting secondary and preferred his brighter primary school one. He may not be ready for secondary school cool yet.

Jdjdntbhh · 16/02/2023 00:00

Vans for girls and Herschel? For boys

WhyWhyWhyMum · 16/02/2023 00:00

Under armour round here

madnessitellyou · 16/02/2023 06:30

I'd wait tbh. If you get him one now he'll want to use it now then demand a new one for September.

Vitriolinsanity · 16/02/2023 20:33

DS black Superdry.
