I’ve been looking for some inspiration. If you have a child-related tattoo, what sort of thing did you get?

I've got name with a colourful heart

vipersnest1 · 15/02/2023 21:20

I have a tattoo related to DC1's medical condition (which could have killed them) and another related to DC2's love of animals. Both mean a great deal to me.
I also have one which is a copy (but much bigger) of a tattoo which my dad had.

Cazs818 · 15/02/2023 21:21

I opted for a Phoenix & forget me knots in memory of my little one born sleeping

im eyeing up a lioness and Cubs for my second

P.S. I'm happy to put pictures here if you would like to see them - the only one which is marginally identifiable is the one for my dad.

Hobbes8 · 15/02/2023 21:22

I have a picture of a bee that my daughter drew. I want one for my son but he refuses to draw me one I don’t want to make him as hers was completely spontaneous.

HipposHaveNipples · 15/02/2023 21:22

Nope but I have one for my dog 😁

BitOutOfPractice · 15/02/2023 21:23

I’m about to get some stars on my wrist for me and my DDs. They are grind up now but still the best thing I ever did.

vipersnest1 · 15/02/2023 21:23

@Cazs818,that's beautiful.

BitOutOfPractice · 15/02/2023 21:24

Grown up, grown up. Though of course at times it was a grind

Thepurplelantern · 15/02/2023 21:25

@Cazs818 that tattoo is stunning and very poignant and you have amazing back structure too.

BitchImTheSecretIngredient · 15/02/2023 21:26

I want to get one of these for my children

I have a design in my head that I would like but it would require a lot of colouring and I'm too much of a baby. No names or anything but two combined images that incorporates both of their names.

Trying not to be too outing but along the lines of a lily with a pearl in the centre. But not those exact two things - just similar.

Heatherjayne1972 · 15/02/2023 21:28

I’d be wary about names and dates of birth tho and where it’s positioned.

I know someone who has the first name and date of birth tattood on the back of her neck - her choice of course but she can’t see whose looking
I’d worry that an unscrupulous character now knows the name and approximate age of a child. That makes me uncomfortable and it’s not even my child

I also know someone who had their child’s name incorrectly spelt / tattooed on their back / shoulder blade where she couldn’t see. She had no idea for ages

PugInTheHouse · 15/02/2023 22:00

I have a treble clef and bass clef joined together with their initials in.

CinderellasBoot · 15/02/2023 22:01

No!

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 15/02/2023 22:13

Haven't got around to it yet but I have Russian heritage and both kids were born by emcs so I was thinking Russian dolls, largest partially open and then two smaller ones with things to represent each child, I.e. jellyfish wearing a tiara for dc2 (don't ask) and Baba Yaga's chicken legged house for dc1.

BridieConvert · 15/02/2023 22:14

I haven't yet but will be booking once I've finished breastfeeding. I've wanted a big floral thigh piece for years so I'm going to get it as a family tattoo. Mine, my husband's and my two daughters' birth flowers.

Whats worrying about someone knowing the name and DOB of a child. What could they do with it?

Cazs818 · 16/02/2023 08:37

Thanks you @Thepurplelantern & @vipersnest1 , so far it’s my only tattoo was a long 10hr sitting , I feel asleep twice 🙈

Beezknees · 16/02/2023 08:39

I have DS's date of birth but not name. I have 49 tattoos, always hated name tattoos.

ZuckerwatterMaus · 16/02/2023 08:41

The flowers which represent the months they were born in .
