Help! Amazing hotel within 1 ish hour of Oswestry?

We are celebrating and have 2 days child free in March to stay at a REALLY lovely hotel but it really needs to be about an hour ish of Oswestry.

I have no idea and my usual searches aren’t throwing anything up - we love the Tawny hotel but if feels just a bit too far away, Rudding park up north is my other favourite for a vibe of what we are after.

Can anyone suggest anything lovely for us?

Heard good things about Baron at Bucknall - particularly the garden rooms with access to the natural pool if wild swimming is your thing. They are both south Shropshire though so both at that hour journey. Nearer Oswestry there's Rowton Castle that I think is quite nice, used for weddings a lot. Lion Quays is just outside Oswestry, the hotel is nothing super special but very nice spa.
Shrewsbury has some nice boutique hotels like Lion & Pheasant and is a fabulous town (I'm biased)

Oh just realized you are in Oswestry so probably don't want Shropshire!!! Anyway I still vote Fishmore Hall - it's where we go for kid free nights away from Shrewsbury!

The Sweeny, Mellington Hall, Lake Vrynwy, The Wynnstay.

Thornton Hall Spa on the Wirral? All I remember is the outdoor jacuzzis with waiter service 🤣🤣
