Ideas for day out with teens - south west

Hi,

One decent day off this HT and would like to do setting nice with early teen kids. Any ideas please? We are SW so have done the usual touristy stuff and Alton Towers too far! Contemplated Legoland but I think they may be a tad too old now.

London a bit too expensive for trains etc. Don't mind driving for a coupe of hours. Any hits? Just saw the Space Centre but Leicester is over 2 1/2 hours drive.

Thanks!

It does get more difficult when they get older. I love a family day out with our 11 and 14 year old but often find we are the oldest family there!
In the past few years we have been to
Paultons Park
Portsmouth historic dockyard
Monkey World
Bovington Tank Museum

Thanks @Tree543 , we have similar ages! Good call on Paultons Park, might try that. No more Peppa Pig world! I have found it much harder as so much is set up for younger children.

Thank you. 😀

Haynes Motor Museum or Go Ape?

Tree543 · 15/02/2023 09:56

There are quite a few bigger rides there to keep them happy. Have a great day!

Moors Valley has both Go Ape and the Nets thing

itsgettingweird · 15/02/2023 20:52

Beaulei motor museum

Moors valley - they have to Ape

Cheddar George

Coltworld water park (not even sure that open this time of year?!)

Paultons is a good shout but I wouldn't call that SW!

If you're coming that far over it opens up far more stuff to do because you have the whole new forest.

It wouldn't constitute a whole day out but do you have any escape rooms near you? They're really good fun and you could go somewhere for a nice lunch afterwards. My teens love this kind of thing.

aibutohavethisusername · 15/02/2023 22:53

How about beginners surfing lessons?

purplepandas · 16/02/2023 06:15

Thanks all. Sadly one refuses escape rooms as too scary ( not sure how). I looked at pp but a bit more than I would like to spend so another time. They are not keen on Go Ape either, so many good suggestions.

Tower Park in Poole has Splashdown, bowling, cinema and about 5 different places for food.

Whendovescry03 · 16/02/2023 11:14

I don't think any of this stuff is anywhere near the south west?

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 16/02/2023 12:02
